You cannot avoid all health problems completely, but you have more control over your health than you may think. What you eat can hurt you. Studies show that some foods actually increase your risk of cancer. Large percentage of cancer-related deaths, even the majority are directly linked to lifestyle choices and an unhealthy diet. The National Cancer Institute estimates that roughly one-third of all cancer deaths may be diet related.

You need to look at your eating habits to best support your health because what you eat and don’t eat has a powerful effect on your health. Without knowing it you may be eating many foods that fuel cancer, while overlooking the powerful foods and nutrients that can protect you. If you change your diet and behaviors you can minimize your risk of disease and even the possibility to stop cancer in its tracks.

Countless common foods found in organic markets and grocery stores contain cancer-fighting properties, from the antioxidants that neutralize the damage caused by free radicals to the powerful phytochemicals. However, there isn’t a single element in a particular food that does all the work, so the best thing to do is eat a variety of foods.

Watch this video on YouTube.

Anti-Cancer Diet

The anti-cancer diet is a healthy diet that includes a variety of foods rich in nutrients from all of the food groups. The diet comprises of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish, lean meats, nuts and seeds, while at the same time reducing your intake of saturated fat, processed foods, sodium and foods with added fat and sugar.

A number of studies have shown that there is a direct link between the reduction in risk of developing various types of cancer by regular consumption of certain fruits and vegetables. A predominantly plant-based diet that includes a variety of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains is the best diet for preventing or fighting cancer.

The American Cancer Society recommended a consumption of at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day to reduce your risk of cancer. A plant-based diet means eating mostly foods that come from vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, and beans. Since these substances work in collaboration with each other, it’s best to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables rather than relying on one specific produce to serve as a magic formula against disease.

Eating a wide variety of brightly-colored fruits and vegetables gives you the best protection. Colorful fruits and vegetables are rich in potent immune–boosting and disease–fighting nutrient phytochemicals. Since different colors are rich in different phytochemicals, the greater the variety of colors that you include, the more you will benefit.

Eating raw fruits and vegetables is highly recommended because this gives you the highest amounts of vitamins and minerals. The less processed these foods are, the less they’ve been cooked, stripped of their nutrients, peeled, mixed with other ingredients, or otherwise altered from the way they came out of the ground, the better. Overcooking vegetables leaches the vitamins and minerals out, so it is best to steam up the vegetables until slightly tender by using a small amount of water as this preserves more of the vitamins.

No particular diet or food can guarantee your immunity from cancer, but a simple change in your eating habits can reduce the risk of cancer and can help you live longer if you have cancer. By making intelligent food choices, you can protect your health, feel better, and boost your ability to fight off the disease.
Good digestion is necessary in order to have good health. Everything starts with what you put in your mouth. Once you select something to eat, your mouth goes to work, using your teeth to turn large portion into smaller pieces and using enzymes from the salivary glands to begin the chemical breakdown of food molecules into a size your body can absorb.

Nutrition experts are always advising us to eat slowly and chew our food thoroughly, because digestion actually begins in the mouth. Since most of your digestive enzymes are actually in your mouth, chewing your food longer allows the food to be broken down better. Taking your time when eating and chewing your food properly has another beneficial effects, it help you control your portion sizes, which naturally decreases calorie consumption.

Once food makes it past your mouth and is swallowed down past your esophagus, the acid wash inside the stomach begins. The surrounding areas inside your stomach are highly acidic and the protective mucous lining is the one protecting your stomach from all this acid. A changed condition in stomach acidity is a common barrier to optimum digestion; most people begin experiencing stomach acid problems in their 30′s and up, when stomach acid starts to drop off.

Watch this video on YouTube.

If you’re experiencing abdominal discomfort, bloating, belching or any symptoms of an overburdened digestive tract, you may benefit from including the following foods in your diet. All of them are rich in nutrients that are particularly essential to the health of your digestive system.

Avocados

An avocado contains plenty of healthy raw fat. A medium-sized avocado contains an enormous 15 grams of fiber, making it one of the most fiber-rich fruits that we know today.

Healthy, raw fats are important to the health of your digestive tract for several reasons, the most important of which are to stimulate healthy functioning of pancreas, gall bladder, and liver, providing an environment in which beta-carotene can be converted efficiently into vitamin A, the one vitamin that is absolutely essential to having a healthy mucosal lining throughout your gastrointestinal tract.

Potatoes

Potatoes and sweet potatoes are an excellent source of dietary fiber and found to be rich in complex carbohydrates, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and manganese. A simple soup of steamed potatoes or sweet potatoes with freshly pressed celery juice or vegetable broth can worked wonders for your digestive system.

Red & Greens Beets

Red beets and their green tops may offer substantial relief if you have a problem with constipation. These vegetables are rich in fiber that can assist on keeping waste materials moving through your small and large intestines at a healthy pace.

Beet greens are an excellent source of beta-carotene, calcium and iron and beets contain large amounts of magnesium and potassium, which nutrients are important in keeping the health of your digestive tract lining and the smooth muscle fibers that create the waves of contractions that produce bowel movements.

Yoghurt

Probiotics are so-called ‘friendly bacteria’ that also occur naturally in the gut and which have been linked to all sorts of health benefits, including helping irritable bowel syndrome and traveler’s diarrhea.

You may choose to take probiotics as supplements which are available from health food shops, or as live yoghurt, which is a good natural source, but you’ll need to take them consistently every day for at least four weeks to see any beneficial effect.

Oats

Whole oats contain loads of soluble fiber. They are rich in selenium, thiamin, phosphorus, and manganese, while whole oats contain small amounts of copper, foliate, vitamin E, and zinc.

Choosing between rolled oats and quick oats, you may choose the rolled variety because rolled oats are made with a steaming process that doesn’t destroy many nutrients, while quick oats are made with dehydrating and pre-cooking processes, which typically leave oats nutrient-depleted.

Note: Some people find that cereals and grains bring on irritable bowel syndrome and bloating and if that’s the case, then you need to get your fiber from fruit and vegetables instead.

Drink lots of fluids especially water. It helps the passage of waste through your digestive system and helps soften stools. Without fluid the fiber can’t do its job because it acts like a sponge, absorbing water. The best way to make sure you are getting sufficient fluids is to drink a glass of water with every meal.

Your digestive system is like the engine in your car, when it’s running smoothly, you tend to forget about it. If it’s not working right for whatever reason, it can result to digestive disorders, malnourishment and disease. If your digestive distress doesn’t respond to dietary or lifestyle changes or becomes more frequent or severe, see your doctor. You may have a digestive disorder that requires specific treatment.
Even if you don’t know what a vegetable diet consists of, you can still get the best of it by asking around. You can read all about vegetable diets on the internet. You can learn what to eat and what not to eat. There are numerous programs that you can apply as you like, depending on what you are trying to accomplish. You can get the best advice from a dietician, but you could also try someone who has done it before, their recommendations can be a lot of help. And if you are treating a disease, you can learn and determine which vegetable diet program that you need to be on.

Did you know that there are a large number of diseases that can be treated with a vegetable diet? Now you might not find cure that way, but you can make it a lot easier for all the medications to work. If you don’t believe this, just ask your doctor about it and they will tell you. Your vegetable diet has an advantage over the regular one you are used to eating every day, because it is a lot lower in saturated fat as well as other toxins that plague your regular diet. Why else do you think most doctors recommend it in the treatment of disease?

When you do a vegetable diet, you want to increase your fruits, vegetables, and whole grains intake. Cholesterol does not dissolve too well in your blood, and when you pile it up, you can get heart disease all too easily, but with a vegetable diet, you get to reduce your intake of the substance and give it a chance to wash out of your system. You need that vegetable diet if not you’ll never be able to set things right.

A large number of what you eat that you have taken for granted every day adds to what is killing you and why you seem to be ill so much of the time. Even the excessive consumption of salt is harmful to your body. You have not known proper health until you have known a proper vegetable diet. If your health is on the line, just get the go-ahead from your doctor and you can do a vegetable diet for as long as is recommended by the pros. The benefits are all
yours when they do roll in.
Essential information about nutrition is being displayed on the labels of food and therefore makes it easy for you to identify what is healthy for you and what is not. You must keep in mind that what you eat eventually affects your body positively or negatively. The decision to eat well could very well mean the difference between life and death.

To get all or most of the vitamins into your body, you have to eat a variety of fruits & vegetables, dairy produce, whole grains, potatoes, juices, salads and oily fish diet. Vitamins are of different types and have different functions in the body; vitamin A is excellent for vision while vitamin E and C helps in fighting diseases. An adequate intake of these vitamins will ensure that your health overall is secure, vitamins are necessary if you want to build up your stamina, metabolism and health. Vitamins A, C, E and D combined in a diet will do you a world of good.

The thirst for water is what many people interpret as a signal for food, such mixed signals tends to cause dehydration in the body because the body’s signal for thirst is misinterpreted. Intentionally or innocently, learning to give your body what it needs is one way to help yourself walk the path of health.

Watch this video on YouTube.

You should know that the best time to eat breakfast should be after a work out because the body is able to digest the food much faster than when you eat prior to a workout. It is good for you to eat healthy and exercise regularly because it reduces your chances of dying young and limits the frequency at which some diseases may occur.

The truth of the matter is that no matter how hard you try to lose weight by a rigorous workout regimen. The effect will be minimal as long as your diet is not complementary in terms of nutritional content and value. A good diet plus rigorous exercise is bound to guarantee a health life. It is never too late to start, if you truly care for your health, it’s something you should be very serious about.

Scientific study has linked poor diet to pain, discomfort, fatigue, depression, allergies and anxieties; it goes without saying then that, good nutrition solves a host of problems. Health is really wealth and those that take good care of their wealth by taking the right nutrition will enjoy the wealth in later years.
